Prepared for you by your insurance agent
Your Oscar account is where you pay your premium, pull up your ID card, choose your primary care doctor and get $0 virtual urgent care, day or night. Setting it up takes about ten minutes.
Open hioscar.com/register. Enter your email address, create a password of at least 12 characters, and select Create account.
Open the verification email from Oscar and follow the link in it. The screen will say "Please verify your email address to continue" until you do. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder or select resend verification email.
Enter your phone number. It's required. Oscar uses it to reach you about important information or changes to your plan.
Tick Email, Text message (SMS), or both. I recommend keeping email on so you never miss a billing notice.
Under "Look up membership by," choose Member ID and type it exactly as it appears on the front of your ID card. If you don't have your card yet, choose Social Security Number or ITIN instead. Then select Continue. This is how Oscar finds your policy.
Choose English or Español. This sets the language of the website, the app, and Oscar's calls, messages, letters and emails.
Your home page opens. Under Action items you'll see what Oscar needs from you, such as choosing a primary care provider or paying your premium. Quick links takes you to your ID card, coverage and benefits, claims, and premium payments.
Already set up on the website? Sign in to the app with the same email and password. You don't need a second account.
Go to Quick links → Pay monthly premium. Autopay takes your bank's routing and account number, and it's the easiest way to protect your coverage. Missed premiums can end your plan.
Pick a PCP in your account within 30 days after your coverage starts. If you don't, Oscar picks one for you. You can change your PCP at any time.
On an HMO plan? You'll need a referral from the PCP on your profile to see most specialists, so choose one you'd actually visit. Not sure what type of plan you have? Ask me.
Your digital ID card is ready as soon as you sign in, even before your card comes in the mail. Find it under Quick links → ID card, or in the app.
| Digital card | On your home page under Quick links → ID card, on the website and in the app. Show it at the doctor or pharmacy. |
|---|---|
| Card in the mail | Your printed card comes in the mail in your welcome kit. You don't need to wait for it to use your plan. |
| Asked for a group number? | Oscar individual and family plans don't have group numbers. If a doctor's office asks, tell them you don't have one. |
| Lost your card? | Use the digital card in your account, or call the Oscar Care Team at 855-672-2755. |
| The verification email never came | Check your spam or junk folder, then use the resend verification email link on the screen. Make sure you typed your email address correctly. |
|---|---|
| Oscar can't find your plan | Type your member ID exactly as it's printed on your card, or try the Social Security number option instead. If you enrolled in the last few days, your plan may not have reached Oscar yet. Try again in a day or two, or call the Care Team. |
| Your password isn't accepted | It needs at least 12 characters. |
| You already have an account | Log in at hioscar.com/login with the email you registered with. Don't create a second account. |
| Forgot your password | Go to Oscar's reset password page, enter your email, and Oscar will email you a link to reset it. |
| You moved, or your income or household changed | Those changes go through the Marketplace where you enrolled, not through Oscar. Call me and I'll update it for you. If you moved, your new address needs to be in Oscar's service area to keep your plan. |
| Oscar Care Team | 855-672-2755 (TTY 711), Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can also message them from your account or the app. Best for your login, ID card, billing, claims and finding a doctor. |
|---|---|
| Non-urgent email | help@hioscar.com, for plan documents, forms and general questions. |
| Your agent | Always welcome, and your first call for changes to your Marketplace application, renewals, or switching plans. If you're not sure who to call, call me first and I'll point you the right way. |
